Mini Goals.

I was lying in bed trying to sort through the zillion things I need to do and then I realized that I felt terrible for being such a lackluster blogger these past few....well, months really. So here I am, blogging at....2:56 a.m. Does anyone else do this? Oh, it's just me?

I'm really trying to learn how to juggle all of the things in my new "Stay at Home" life. Who knew it was so crazy? Definitely not me! Parker is seriously the dream baby--so happy and content, but still--it takes some getting used to (and I mean that in the best way possible!) Being the Type A person that I am, I want everything to be perfect--the house, my shop, my body, my time with friends, with Bryan, at church, with family, and of course, my time with Mr. P, but that is impossible and I just can't seem to do everything 100%...or even 80%...on a good day.

I have resolved to just get done with what I can, so I'm setting a few "Mini Goals" for myself this week. And here we go:

1. Call an assortment of family members. That is priority one!

2. Finish writing those dang thank you cards. Seriously. This is SO tacky of me.

3. Hopefully write a large number of blog posts and schedule them like a good blogger should.

4. Go through all of the hospital stuff and various things I've been collecting for Parker's baby book. Oh, I need to go through pictures for that as well.

5. Take Parker's TWO MONTH pictures on Wednesday. I could cry. My little man is so big!

6. Run. I signed up for a half marathon last week so this is my first full week of training! Yippee!

7. Make a fabric blind for the guest bedroom and take pictures to blog.

8. Help Bryan plant new flowers and lay mulch in our newly sodded (!!!!) backyard.

9. Hang out with a few out-of-town friends that are visiting. Hang out with in-town friends, too.

10. Make it to the driving range with Bryan sometime. We went last week and I had a suprisingly good time!

11. Finish Twenty Three Oh One's website and open up the Etsy shop again.

12. Work on a few new designs that have been bouncing around in my head.

13. Get everything packed for our next trip! Y'all....we do nothing but travel in the summer. I'm okay with it though ;).

Okay, I realize that this is an ambitious list. We will see what I actually accomplish.

And since every post is better with a picture, specifically a before and after picture, here is a sneek peek of what Bryan has been busting his hiney for in our backyard:

Before: (January)

It was basically all dirt. Not joking.

And now!

Thank the Lord for sod and a hardwording husband who doesn't mind 101 degree heat. :) (You better believe I had nothing to do with the sodding portion of this project.) We still have quite a bit of work to do in the beds, but it already looks amazing in my opinion!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Back to Work!

Thursday, June 21, 2012

You may have noticed that things are looking pretty different here on Twenty Three Oh One! I have been working day and night on a few things for my stationery business--mainly designing a fluid brand and look for my blog, Etsy Shop, Facebook page, business cards, and---get this--a website! I guess it's a complete makeover....I tend to go all or nothing. :) Here's a little sneak peek:

Woo hoo!! I am so excited, you have no idea! Big things, big things. I am nervous and excited about this new step all at the same time. Growing this business has been on my heart for months--it is something that I truly love to do (I'm sure you all know what I mean!). I am also happy about this because I have decided to stay at home with my sweet Parker (who is growing fast!) so this will be the perfect opportunity to do something I enjoy while being a full-time momma--which I also enjoy :).

So, I apologize for the lack of posts (baby and vacations are my excuses!) and for the broken links (working on that part), but things will hopefully be back to normal soon.

OH. Oh my gosh--I had no clue this happened until it had already happened, but our home was featured on the amazing blog 6th Street Design School last week! Kirsten is an extremely talented designer so I was shocked when she contacted me. Thank you so much, Kirsten! Check out her blog, friends!

One Month.

I cannot believe that our baby boy is ONE month old! It has truly flown.

Length: 21.25 inches (at two week appointment)
Weight: 8 pounds 14 ounces (at two week appointment)
  • You ROLLED OVER at 10 days old which completely freaked me, your dad, and your Nonnie out, but we got it on tape and were so proud! You haven't done it since, but you are one strong little guy!
  • Your record for sleep so far has been 5 hours...go you!
  • You have a great taste in music! I love this characteristic and I credit it to the many hours you listened to it while you were in my belly. One day when you were fussy, I tried to calm you down with some baby-ish lullaby music....you were not having it though. I gave up and decided to turn on my iTunes and you immediately calmed down and fell asleep about 2 minutes later. We have been listening to lots of "grown up" music since then! Your favorites are Young the Giant, Vampire Weekend, and Coldplay.
  • You are a great people person and a very sweet little snuggler. Everyone comments on what a good baby you are and I have to agree! We got very lucky that you have your daddy's temperament.
  • You sneeze all the time but sometimes do a "fake out" and instead of actually sneezing, you let out this big coo that is so adorable even though you don't mean to do it. Then you smile like your all proud of yourself even though you don't know you're doing that either.
  • You love to be sung to sleep. I stick with one of my favorites--"You Are My Sunshine" and your eyes always start to droop almost immediately. It takes me about 5 minutes to get you drowsy enough to lay down. (Yes, I realize how amazing that is.)
  • You do not like to be in a dirty diaper. This is really the only time you get in a really bad mood. I understand though---I wouldn't want to sit in poo either ;).
